Last year Athos was born on our farm. He is our very first foal here in France. It is an Azteca-horse. I will keep a trainer's log of his progress. His journey from an ignorant, upnoxious, rude, irresponsible foal into a magnificent show-horse.
A couple of weeks ago one of my clients asked me if I wanted to ride her Lusitanian horse. She has bought the horse a few months ago and had been having trouble handling him. She recently found out that the 12 year old horse had only been castrated a year ago. This means that, in his head, he thinks he is still a stallion. However, I just adore Lusitanian horses so obviously I didn't say on! What you'll see on this video is not a prepared dressage exercise, it's just me riding this horse for the first time trying to find out how he has been ridden. Even though it has been a long time ago, this horse has learned something at some point and still has a faint memory of it. I enjoyed riding him and I am convinced that with good training, patience and persistence his new owner will find a way to work with him and enjoy a good dressage horse.
Negative Thoughts grow like bad weeds, our imagination creates a negative world if we let the weeds grow. Staying positive and having a constructive attitude is work (De-cluttering), you have to invest time and effort to reach the goals you're dreaming of. As the old Samurai says in the movie 'Last Samurai' : you have to empty your mind, you can't think about fighting, you have to do it.
Yesterday we had a calm, relaxing and fun day. We shot some arrows on the new 3D Archery Target we've bought. Had a chat and a whisky afterwards. Life is supposed to be fun and easy, especially on a Sunday afternoon.
Some people say living on the countryside is boring and stress-less. The city-dwellers don't know anything about our life here at the foot of the Pyrenees in the South of France.
Today we wanted to go out and visit a fellow archer and hunter, so the ladies could discuss my wife's first experience on the local farmers market and my friend and I could shoot some arrows. But something happened that took us complete out of our planning, we got stuck on our farm, we suffered a TRAFFIC-JAM. Look below.
As a coach I often meet men who feel nobody wants them. It's a very intimate moment when you're in the woods with a bunch of men. Camping, lighting a Fire Without a Match and sometimes killing animals.
Oeps there I go in my very first post "KILLING ANIMALS", I've warned you this is a MEN ONLY blog. So if you hate meat eaters gohere.
I'm sorry I lost track here for a second... but I'm back! So in the woods surviving on food we find in nature. Most of the day we spend on finding water, filtering it, building a shelter and ...
Well you know what I'm talking about and if not give yourself a treat and book a survival experience!
For those who know what I'm talking about, have you ever experienced this moment of unlimited joy sitting around a campfire listening to stories your buddies share and suddenly someone starts talking about feeling criticized by women. The reason for these assaults : "Being who you are, a man!"
It is true; being a man is a hard thing to do, cause we like
to drink and smoke,
to go out,
to look for tasty body-parts,
to enjoy eating meat,
to ... even better we love to fight and argue,
to ... lets say prefer to avoid talking about our feelings when interrogated,
to make our hands dirty and take action.
My advice : next time you feel criticized remember this :
"We are all descendants of adventures men and we have to honor them, the only way to do this is being a man as a man should be."
Thanks for reading my first post... and BRO, BE AUTHENTIC, BE A MAN!!!
My 2 most important believes are :
1.There's a solution for every problem or issue, we only have to find it.
2.Women and men aren't the same, we can not act, live and enjoy the same way. And if we keep on believing this lie about being the same we will disappear.
